(BEIJIGN, April 23) -- President of the Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (beijing2008.cn/47/66/column211716647.shtml´ target=_blank>BOCOG) Liu Qi met with President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Sir Philip Craven on Monday.

The guest is in Beijing to attend the 46th IPC Governing Board meeting, which Liu said will play a positive role in ensuring the success of the 13th Paralympic Games in 2008.

The Games will also promote the cause of the disabled in Beijing and China, and will help China to construct a harmonious society, Liu said.

BOCOG is making efforts to be well prepared for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in cooperation with IPC, and is determined to make the Paralympics as splendid as the Olympics in 2008, he added.

In his reply, Sir Philip Craven said IPC will fully support the preparatory work for the 13th Paralympic Games and believed that the Games will be successful.

Deng Pufang, president of the China Disabled Persons´ Federation (CDPF) and BOCOG executive president was present.
