Beijing is a real "shop ´til you drop" city
Here you find fashionable boutiques with famous brands as well as bargains that is difficult to find anywhere else in the world. The ware houses have fixed prices but many items they are offering, especially clothes, you also can find in different shops or stalls.
In the market streets and places you will find a lot of stalls that offer the same products, but the price vary when you ask for, however, when you are done with your bargaining, the price is more or less the same as when you started, and the same as everywhere else! Many times you end up with a price tag that is around 25% of the initial price.
The most famous is Silk Market or Silk Alley (Xiu Shui) that begins at Xiu Shui Street, pasts south to the US Embassy, and reaches Jianguomenwai Avenue. Here you will find all type of clothes, not only silk.
If you are looking for something different but still of high quality, Chinese brands are, as many other objects from China today, in the same "high class" category as the well-known brands from Europe and USA! No wonder, they are made in China!
You will also find designers with small boutiques, presenting items with a fantasy and esprit that is hard to find anywhere else. |
